Other Scholarship Information The American Dental Hygienists´ Association (ADHA) offers various scholarships for second-year dental hygiene program students who have a minimum dental hygiene GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate a financial need at least $1,500. (Special application form due to ADHA by June 1.) www.adha.org/institute/Scholarship/eligibility The American Welding Society (AWS) Foundation offers scholarships to students studying welding. (Special application must be submitted directly to AWS by March 1.) The AMVETS Department of Illinois Scholarship offers various scholarships to high school seniors. Each applicant should ensure that his or her application is complete and that all supporting documentation required is submitted. (Special application**must be sent to address on form and postmarked by March 1. Successful applicants will be notified in April.) The BNSF Foundation will award up to 35 scholarships, $2500 each, for the upcoming college year. The program is available for current high school seniors who are the dependent sons, daughters or stepchildren of full-time BNSF employees. The scholarships are renewable for three additional years. Application is due to address on form by April 1. The Datatel Angelfire Scholarship is available for outstanding students currently attending an eligible Datatel institution, who served in the Vietnam War, their spouses and children, or refugees. Scholarships are also available for soldiers who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Datatel Returning Student Scholarship is available to students enrolled in at least six credit hours returning to school in the upcoming year after a five-year or more absence. Online applications are available at www.datatel.com/dsf and are due January 31. The Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship is available to students enrolled in at least six credit hours at CSC. The Galesburg Community Foundation is offering an Allied Health Scholarship to students accepted into a health care curriculum. Applicants must be a resident of the geographic area served by the Galesburg Community Foundation. This award is to be applied toward tuition, fees, board and room, or books and will be sent to the designated school. (Special application form due to address on form by April 15.) The Galesburg Cottage Hospital Nursing Assistance Scholarship provides a full one-year scholarship (tuition, fees, required textbooks), to full-time, second-year ADN students who have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Recipients will receive a full-time position upon graduation and sign a contract to work with Cottage for at least one year. (Special application form, available from Cottage Hospital, is due to Cottage Hospital by April 15.) The Illinois Community College Faculty Association (ICCFA) Scholarship will be awarded to Illinois residents who are full-time students, have completed 30 semester hours and must have a 3.5 or higher GPA. (Special application must be submitted by August 1.) The Illinois Community College System Foundation offers the Illinois Health Improvement Association Scholarship to students enrolled in a Health Care program. The general CSC application is due to the CSC Foundation by April 1. The Illinois Community College System Foundation offers the Marilyn Casey Scholarship, which will provide funding for a student enrolled in a health related field. The applicant must show evidence of sufficient ability to succeed in the program, show evidence of financial need, and have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. The general CSC scholarship application is due to the CSC Foundation by April 1. The Illinois Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) provides numerous scholarships with various restrictions to first-and second-year Mortuary Science students. (Contact the CSC Foundation or the Mortuary Science Coordinator for a specific application form which is due December 15.) Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation offers scholarships to juniors or seniors who have been accepted into a Teacher Certification Program. Attendance at an Illinois college or university is not a requirement, but the applicant must be a resident of Illinois. Special application must be returned to address on form by April 1. The Independent Accountants´ Association of Illinois Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships to Illinois students who have a 3.0 GPA and are majoring in accounting. (Special application must be received no later than June 30.) The International Order of the Golden Rule Award of Excellence Scholarship is available to a mortuary science student who has demonstrated a commitment to the funeral profession. (Specific eligibility requirements are stated on the application, which is due to the CSC Foundation office by noon, October 1 or to address on form) The Knox County Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship will be awarded to a Knox County resident who is attending or plans to attend an Ag or Agriculture related program at an Illinois community college. (Special application due to address on form by April 1.) The Mary Davis McKnight Memorial Endowment provides scholarships for Knox and Warren County students who are orphans (or have a deceased parent). Financial need is a factor and academic accomplishment is required. (Special application must be submitted to CSC Foundation by April 1.) The National Federation of the Blind will award thirty scholarships to high-achieving, legally blind students. (Go to: www.nfb.org/scholarships for the National Federation of the Blind scholarship application form; please submit to address on form by March 31.) The P.E.O. Continuing Education Scholarship will be awarded to a female student, with documented financial need, who has had at least 12 consecutive months as a non-student in her adult life, and is within 24 months of completing her educational goal. (Special application must be submitted to the CSC Foundation by April 1.) The Pilot Club of Galesburg Scholarship is available to local students pursuing a carrer in a Special Education program or a Health Care program (which involves working with the disabled). Special application and letters of recommendation must be submiited to address on form by June 15. The Pioneer Hi-Bred International is offering scholarships to full-time students enrolled in an Agricultural technology program. (Information is available and applications may be submitted to AgKnowledge.) The Jennette Rankin Foundation provides non-renewable grants to females who will be at least 35 years of age as of April 1 and pursuing a technical/vocational degree, or a first bachelor degree. (More information is available at http://www.rankinfoundation.org/) SAD SACKS UNIT 1216 AMVETS offers two $500 scholarships to nursing students for tuition, fees, and required expenses. A military connection is not necessary. (A special application is available in the Foundation office and is due to AMVETS by April 1.) Sandburg-Lombard Scholarships are available to qualified students who plan to transfer to Knox College. (A special application is available in the Foundation office and is due to Knox College by April 1.) The Valley of Springfield, Illinois Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, offers various scholarships to students maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. Abbot Scottish Rite Scholarship Sherwood & Evelyn Kresin Memorial Scholarship IL Masonic Scottish Rite Health Care Scholarship Grand Lodge Of IL A.F. & A.M. Scholarship Robert B. Perkins Memorial Fund Roy L. & Maxine Wyckoff Masonic Scholarship Applications are due to address on form by April 1. The Warren-Henderson County Farm Bureau provides scholarships to students entering or attending college who are majoring in agriculture or agribusiness. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability and/or financial need. (Special application required and submitted to Farm Bureau by March 1.) The Western Illinois Regional Council-Community Action Agency is offering scholarships to assist lower income individuals continue their education in areas of study with high employability potential. All scholarships will be available on a region wide basis to individuals in Hancock, Henderson, McDonough and Warren counties. Special application due to address on form by March 26.
