The Ackerman & Fagan Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students from West Central High School with preference given to students from Biggsville, Illinois. The Dan Adair Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student who is majoring in music, agriculture or education. Financial need is not a factor, but applicants must have a 2.0 grade point average. The American Legion (Galesburg)/Ralph M. Noble Post #285 Endowment provides scholarship funds to a child of a veteran. The Avon Woman´s Club Scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional student with a 2.5 GPA who is a current resident of the Avon School District. Recipient must have lived in the Avon School District for three years, be an Avon High School graduate, or be an Avon School District resident who has their GED and has lived in Avon for three years. Financial need is a factor. The Ann Rhykerd Asplund Nursing Endowment is available to full-time second-year nursing students from Knox County. (Preference will be given to Galesburg High School graduates.) Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average and have an average to lower median family income. The Azer Clinic Physical Therapy Month Scholarship will be awarded to a second-year student enrolled in the Radiologic Technology or Associate Degree Nursing program. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA, be an in-district student, and show financial need.The Frances Dianne Bailey Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Knox County high school senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient must demonstrate a Christian commitment to their world. The Homer O. Bandy Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a second-year male student enrolled in the Manufacturing Processes field. This Galesburg native must be at least 30 years of age and married with family responsibilities. The recipient must be employed and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Financial need is a factor. The Marie & Lloyd H. Bodinus Endowment was established in 2000 to provide scholarships for nursing students. Applicants may be full-or part-time students, but must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average. Financial need will be considered only if the candidates are equally qualified. The Joe Brechbiel Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student from Warren County. (If no one from Warren County applies, then the award will be open to any CSC student.) Applicant must be a full-time student in the Industrial or Business Programs. The Walter Douglas "Doug" Buckert Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a second-year Mortuary Science student. The recipient must demonstrate qualities of leadership and civic-mindedness, both in their community and the classroom, and exemplify the qualities of servant leadership. (Special application due to CSC Foundation by December 15.) The Bushnell Chamber of Commerce will offer a scholarship to an Adult Education student attending The Extension Center. The award will cover the cost of tuition, fees, and books for a three-hour course. The Martha & Wilbur Capps Memorial Endowment provides scholarships for students from Hancock County. The Catherine Club Endowment, established by the Catherine Club Board provides scholarships for females resid ing in Knox County. The Centel Endowment, established in 1982, provides an academic scholarship for a graduating area high school senior, in the upper third of his/her class, wishing to attend CSC.The Beulah S. Clevenger Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional, nursing student with a 2.0 - 3.2 GPA, preference will be given to an employee of the Marigold Health Care Center and/or member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Altona; student must be a demonstrated hard worker with a passion and committment for self improvement through education. The College Bookstore of America will award ten $100 book scholarships each fall. CSC students who receive the scholarship may redeem their award at any of the three CSC campus bookstores. The Crist Endowment, established in 2001 by Carl Sandburg College, honors the College´s fourth president, Don, and his wife, Mary Fran, for their commitment to education. The endowment will provide scholarships for education majors. The CSC SIFE Scholarship established in 2007, in memory of James Peelle is available to CSC SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) members with a 3.0 grade point average. The Sara Merkel Deal Scholarship was established by Pete and Judy Boynton in memory of Judy's grandmother. This scholarship will be awarded to a CSC student with demonstrated financial need. The Dell Incorporated Endowment will provide scholarships for Computer Information Systems students. The Laxmibai Deoras Memorial Endowment will be awarded to a Knox County resident with family responsibilities and financial need. The funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, child care, and transportation expenses. The D.I.G.I.T. Scholarship, established in 2002 by the board of Disabled Individuals Getting in Touch (DIGIT), will be awarded to a second-year nursing student with a 3.0 grade point average. The Ethel M. Donaldson Trust provides nursing scholarships. Applicants are interviewed by nursing program instructors and are required to work for two years in the profession upon graduation. The Verne Dowers/Sunrise Rotary Scholarship is available to a Knox County student, with a GPA of 2.5 or above, who is enrolled in an industrial program at the Center for Manufacturing Excellence. (If a Knox County student does not apply, other applications will be accepted.) The Elks Lodge of Galesburg/Clem Root Memorial Endowment Scholarship will be awarded to a student from the northern portion of the CSC district, preferably a relative of an Elk member. The Exchange Club of Galesburg Scholarship will provide financial assistance to a Knox County graduating senior who has maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service activities. The Robert Finch Memorial Endowment Scholarship will be awarded to a student, with financial need, who is participating in a CSC athletic program and has at least a 3.0 GPA. The First Bank Endowment provides an academic scholarship for a graduating senior, from the CSC district, in the upper 15 percent of his/her class. The First State Bank of Western Illinois—Hamilton High School Scholarship will be awarded to a Hamilton High School graduating senior who has maintained a 3.0 grade point average who will attend CSC as a full-time student. This award is open to any course of study and financial need is not a factor. The First State Bank of Western Illinois—Illini West High School Scholarship will be awarded to a Illini West High School graduating senior who has maintained a 3.0 grade point average who will attend CSC as a full-time student. This award is open to any course of study and financial need is not a factor. The CSC general application form should be submitted directly to the high school guidance counselor. The First State Bank of Western Illinois—Monmouth-Roseville High School Scholarship will be awarded to a Monmouth-Roseville High School graduating senior who has maintained a 3.0 grade point average who will attend CSC as a full-time student. This award is open to any course of study and financial need is not a factor. The First State Bank of Western Illinois—West Prairie High School Scholarship will be awarded to a West Prairie High School graduating senior who has maintained a 3.0 grade point average who will attend CSC as a full-time student. This award is open to any course of study and financial need is not a factor. The F&M Bank Scholarship will be awarded to a Knox County high school senior, with at least a 3.5 GPA, to enter the math, education, or teaching field. The Founders Scholarship is available to in-district CSC students who have completed 15 credit hours, have demonstrated community service and leadership abilities, and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. The general CSC application along with a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or business leader is due by April 1. The Merlyn D. Freeze Memorial Endowment Scholarship was established in 1999 to provide assistance to students taking classes directly related to the field of tool and die maker. Applicants may be part-time students, but must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. The Galesburg Business Network (GBN) Scholarship, established in 1996, will provide funds to assist a female student, over the age of 25, who will be enrolling in a program within CSC's Business Division. The Galesburg HyVee Food Stores Scholarship is available to a student residing in Knox County. The Galesburg Police Benevolent & Protective Association Unit 19/Bill Herrin Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship is available to a full-time, second-year Criminal Justice student with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Financial need is not a factor. The Galesburg Women's Club will award a $150.00 scholarship to a single parent who is a non-traditional student enrolled at Carl Sandburg College. The Lou & Wilma Gamage Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Practical Nursing student with demonstrated financial need. Donald H. Gibb Educational Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student who is an education major. A 3.0 GPA is required. Donald H. Gibb Memorial Scholarship is available to a full-time, 2nd year Mortuary Science student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must demonstrate community service and leadership abilities. The Glass Favorites Corvette Club Scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled in the Automotive Technology or Auto-Body program. Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and be from Knox or Warren County. The Dr. Paul Good Dental Hygiene Scholarship, established in 2004, will be awarded to a full-time, first year Dental Hygiene student with financial need. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above in high school and preference will be given to Henderson or Mercer County students. (The general CSC scholarship application form is due by July 15 to the CSC Foundation office for this scholarship.) The Gladys Grossman Memorial Endowment will provide a scholarship to the accounting student with the highest GPA in his/her accounting courses. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in their fourth semester of the Accounting program. Hayden Creek Ranch Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to 2nd year students with demonstrated financial need, who plan to transfer to a 4-year institution. The Ruth E. Huseman Endowment was established in 1999. Funds from the Huseman estate will provide scholarships for CSC nursing students. The Albert & Anna Mae Johnson Endowment was established by the Johnsons, their friends, and businesses in the Carthage area. The interest from this endowment provides a scholarship for a student from Hancock County. The M. Brad Johnson Memorial Scholarship recipient must be a resident of Fulton, Henderson, Knox, or Warren County; must maintain a 2.5 GPA; and must be enrolled in an Associate in Applied Science program. The Alvin Kalin Scholarship was established from his estate to provide assistance to a student from Mercer, Knox, or Henry County, enrolled in a vocational program. (Preference is given to an individual who is a member of the Lutheran Church.) The Verna M. Kellogg Memorial Endowment was established in 1996. This scholarship will be granted to a Hancock County resident, with demonstrated financial need, who is enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at The Branch Campus in Carthage. (Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA for the award to be renewed for spring semester.)The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time non-traditional student with a minimum 2.0 GPA, financial need is a factor. The Knox County Association for Home & Community Education Scholarship (fka. Homemakers Extension) is awarded to a KCAHCE member in good standing for three years, an immediate family member, child or grandchild of such a member, or a member of 4-H for five years. (Special application) The Knox County D.A.R.E. Scholarship is available to graduates of the Knox County D.A.R.E. program. Applicants must be enrolled at CSC as a full-time student and have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. Financial need is a factor and preference will be given to drug- and alcohol-free students. The John W. (Jack) & Doris Kraus Endowment will provide a scholarship to a ROWVA high school graduate with financial need who has maintained a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to a first-generation college student who has demonstrated good attendance in high school. The Dr. James Kutkat Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Williamsfield High School graduating senior. The Irene B. Donaldson Landis Nursing Scholarship, established in 2004, will provide scholarships to full-time, first-year or second-year Associate Degree nursing students. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA and financial need will be considered if candidates are equally qualified. This scholarship has been established in memory of Lola A. Bowman and George E. Bowman. The Brian Lauerman Memorial Endowment provides scholarship aid to students from Knox and Warren Counties who are enrolled in one or more music classes. The Sally A. Lauerman Memorial Endowment provides scholarship aid to a female student from Knox County who is enrolled in one or more business courses. Financial need is not a factor. The John M. Lewis Memorial Endowment will be used to provide scholarships to Carl Sandburg College students who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or above and are enrolled in CSC's Business Division. The Lions Club (Noon) of Galesburg Endowment was established in 2000 in honor of Lion Judge William K. Richardson. The interest from this endowment will provide scholarships for Knox County students with vision or hearing impairments. (Preference will be given to Galesburg residents. If no vision or hearing impaired students are eligible, students with other disabilities will be considered.) The A. Lewis Long Academic Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 to provide assistance for tuition and fee expenses. Interest from this endowment provides scholarships to the two Warren High School graduating seniors with the highest GPA who will be attending Carl Sandburg College. (Applications should be submitted directly to WHS by April 15.) The Mackey Family Endowment was established to assist a female Knox County high school senior, with at least a 3.0 GPA, to enter the math, education, or teaching field. The Marine Bank & Trust Scholarship (Carthage) was established to provide financial assistance to a student who is a graduate of a Hancock County high school and is enrolled in one or more business courses. The Robert E. McLaughlin Honorary Endowment is sponsored by the Hattery, Simpson & West law firm. Financial assistance is awarded to students of the Knox County area, based on need and academic accomplishment. The Berniece Edwards McMillan Memorial Scholarship, established in 2003, will be awarded to a second semester LPN student. The student must be at least 30 years-of-age and have demonstrated dedication to his/her education. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and financial need. The Minich & Fagan Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students from Hancock County, with preference given to students graduating from Nauvoo-Colusa-Dallas City High School. The Muriel & Harry Neave Memorial Music Endowment will provide scholarships for CSC music majors. Applicants must complete an on-campus audition and are required to participate in a CSC musical ensemble. The George E. & Pearl Palling Trust Scholarship, funded by income from the Palling Estate, provides a scholarship to a needy and worthy CSC student from Galesburg. The Sarah B. Peasley Fund assists a nursing student (preferably from Henderson County) to defray the costs of housing, tuition, fees, and book expenses. The Doris Plumb Endowment Scholarship Fund was established in 1982 from estate funds. This scholarship provides Hancock County residents with funds to be used to attend CSC.The Prairieland Hospice Foundation in honor of Dr. John W. McClean Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student in an Allied health field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to a student with demonstrated community service. The Raritan State Bank Scholarship is available to seniors in the upper one-third of their graduating class. Applicants or the applicant´s family must be a customer of the Raritan State Bank or Abingdon Banking Center. The Rebecca Parke Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (1) will award a $500 scholarship to a female Knox County resident, who graduated from a Knox County high school, and is over 25 years of age, returning to school full-time. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher The Rebecca Parke Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. This endowment will be awarded to a full-time student in the education field. Preference will be given to a student planning to transfer to a 4-year institution. Applicant much have at least a 2.5 GPA, be a resident of Knox County, and a graduate of a Knox County high school. The Rebecca Parke Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (2) will award a $500 scholarship to a veteran who has served and has been Honorably Discharged or is presently serving in the military, including Illinois National Guard. Recipient must be a Knox County resident and a graduate of a Knox County high school. First consideration will be given to veterans and/or those presently serving, then to his or her direct descendants. Consideration will also be given to children of deceased veterans (mother or father). Applicants must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Military documentation must be submitted with application. Reeder Endowment will be awarded to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need is a factor. This award is open to any course of study and scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, and books. (A special application form is required and must be submitted to the CSC Foundation by April 1.)The Rich GED Scholarship will be awarded to a GED graduate who plans to attend CSC and continue his/her education; applicants must reside within the CSC district. The general CSC application along with a copy of GED test score, and a teacher letter of recommendation is required and must be submitted to the CSC Foundation. The Dorothea E. Richardson Endowment, established in 2003, provides scholarships to students majoring in education. The Mary A. Robson Teacher Scholarship will be awarded to a second year student in the field of teacher education. Scholarship applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service activities and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The Rotary Club (Noon) of Galesburg Scholarship is available to full-time sophomores who are residents of Knox County and who have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA.The Rotary Club (Sunrise) of Galesburg awards a scholarship to a Knox or Warren County student, over 25 years of age, returning to school full-time. Applicants must have completed at least 12 semester hours, maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be pursuing an educational goal. The Ann Rowe Nursing Endowment Scholarship will be awarded to a second-year nursing student who has family responsibilities and who has proven financial need. The ROWVA General Endowment Scholarship, established in 1982 by ROWVA area friends and businesses, provides funds to assist a ROWVA High School student, with financial need, to attend CSC. (Please use the "Endowment and Annual Scholarships" application form and submit to the Foundation office by April 1.) The Security Savings Bank Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student from Henderson or Warren County who has maintained a 2.5 grade point average. The Seminary Street Merchants' Association Endowment will provide a scholarship to a Galesburg resident attending Carl Sandburg College. The Silas Willard Alumni Scholarship will be awarded to 1 male and 1 female student who attended Silas Willard Elementary School for at least 1 year. Preference will be given to students who attended Silas more than 1 year. Recipients must be enrolled full-time at CSC with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Students must demonstrate leadership and community service. The Lyle Snyder Memorial Scholarship, funded by the Galesburg Noon Kiwanis Club, will be awarded to two full-time CSC students who are Galesburg area high school graduates or Galesburg residents. The recipients must be active in community service and have financial need. The Robert Stoerzbach Scholarship, established in 2001 by the Stoerzbach, Morrison, Robertson, Wilcox & Alcorn law firm, will be awarded to a student from the northern portion of the CSC district. The Mary Mills Sutor Upward Bound Scholarship, established in 2002 by Dr. & Mrs. (Darlene) Green in memory of Mary Mills Sutor, Mrs. Green´s sister, will provide assistance to a graduate of the Upward Bound program who has a 2.0 GPA or higher. Financial need is not a factor. The Thompson Family Child Development Endowment will be awarded to a part-time or full-time student enrolled in the Child Development Program or the Educational field. Student must have maintained a 2.0 GPA. Financial need is a factor. The Grace & Ray Thompson Nursing Scholarship, established in 2003, is available to nursing students who have maintained a 2.5 GPA. Financial need is a factor. The Twomey Company Endowment Scholarship, established in 1993, will be awarded to students from Warren or Henderson County majoring in an agriculture-related field. The Marguerite A. Vitale Memorial Endowment was established by Guy Vitale of G & M Distributors in honor of his mother, one of the founders of G & M Distributors, Inc. of Galesburg. The interest from the endowment will be awarded to a female student with a 2.0 GPA or better. The Alta M. Weir Memorial Endowment was established in 1983. The interest from this endowment is used to assist a student enrolled at CSC. The Wells Fargo Bank Endowment established in 1979, provides an academic scholarship for a student in the CSC district. The Jim & Joe Wiegand Memorial Endowment was established in 1992. Interest from this endowment is used to assist a married individual, with financial need, who is enrolled in marketing/business courses. The Dean Wolbers Scholarship, established in 2004 by the Warren County/Monmouth Auxiliary Police Corps, will be awarded to a full-time Criminal Justice student from Warren County who has maintained a 2.5 G.P.A. Financial need is a factor. The Ethel Yetter Memorial Endowment Scholarship was established in 1988. The interest from this endowment is used to provide scholarships for Hancock County residents.
